Hi Des
Welcome to the community and Im sorry we havent replied to you sooner, we have lots of information here about Insurance.
It says:Car insurance
If you already have car insurance
If you develop a health condition or disability you should inform your car insurance company.
It can’t charge you a higher premium or increase your excess without evidence that you’re an increased risk.
If you’re driving an adapted vehicle
If you drive a vehicle that’s been specially adapted to meet your needs, the insurance company can increase their charges to offset the increased cost of repairs that might be needed in the future.
If you’re using a vehicle provided by the Motability scheme, it comes with insurance included. Some insurance companies and brokers specialise in insurance for disabled drivers.
See the specialist car insurers recommended by Disabled Motoring UK.The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has a database of brokers that you can search to find those that insure modified vehicles.

I may be late commenting, but I'd take a look at one of the below companies:
Eden Mobility: £38.95 a year
Fish Insurance: £39 a year
Surewise: £44 a year
All of these policies appear to be pretty much identical cover. I chose Eden with them being local to me and the cheapest I could find.0
