Converting to PIP

HI. After an appeal on my DLA in 2008, I had to attend a Tribunal, where decided to give me Middle rate care and Higher rate mobility, with no end date. I was also on Incapacity benefit, but then got moved to ESA, (WRAG) but despite receiving letters from DWP confirming I was unfit for work and didnt do much when asking for a reconsideration so that benefit stopped after 12 months, although I did get NI contributions (but they dont put food on the table)
I am still waiting to hear about converting to PIP.
Anyone any ideas how long this is taking please

Hi Allyson and welcome
The DLA to PIP process is behind schedule. Claimants are being selected at random so you could hear next week or in a years time

Thanks
It’s so stressful- like everyone else, I’m finding it hard to concentrate- it’s like having the sword of Damocles over our heads0 -
Though meanwhile you are still getting your DLA. Don't worry about PIP until you have to - as CR says you might not hear for another year.0

Thank
I have read that you need to be ready -So I’m going to start getting medical records sorted1 -
Good Idea to start collecting evidence as long as you are not paying for it.
Spend some time understanding the points system, descriptors and criteria foran award

Does anyone know if these people are any better than the last lot ( or are they still the same)
i know many many people are struggling with this, and I’m just about to join the queue! Having had a bad experience with converting to ESA - not looking forward to this one bit0 -
In my experience they are poor. I have been on DLA for years with no problem. Last year my name came to the top of the pile to apply for PIP. I filled in the form ok. The problems started with the F2F assessment. The person spent the whole time typing on her laptop only pausing to ask me a question but not really waiting or listening properly for the answer. The interview lasted approximately 20 minutes. She filled in the answers to most of the questions without asking me. She also lied about asking me to do various exercises which I apparently did with no problems. The report was a load of rubbish apparently there is nothing wrong with me & I was refused PIP & I also lost my DLA so my income dropped significantly. I am now having to go to a tribunal to try & get it reinstated.0

one thing I have picked up is take someone with you
my my friend who came when I first saw the tribunal passed away last year. She was brilliant0 -
@Allyson Hi you can never tell some are honest some or not ...my mum's was lovely I'm her carer and she let me speak lasted 40 minutes at home ..we got mums report and it was accurate on the report it says physiotherapist ...she ticked the descriptor boxes to give her 21points daily living & 14 mobility ..but it's with a decision maker at minute and this was 3 weeks ago..so just waiting for decision ..she was invited to claim from DLA1
