How to acquire a scooter with the NHS?

I have had ms for over 30 years my walking is getting slower and harder I have a wheelchair but would like a scooter because if I fall down I can't get by myself. How so I go about acquiring one with the nhs anyone know

When you got your wheelchair, did you have an NHS wheelchair assessment? If so, it might be worth contacting them to see what your options are, as schemes vary in different local authorities. Welcome to the community.

Unfortunately, the NHS doesn’t normally issue mobility scooters. NHS wheelchair clinics do currently have some discretion over setting their own criteria for the equipment that they issue. However, for those that have a need for an outdoor powered mobility device, the wheelchair clinic will normally only be able assist if there is also a need for an indoor powered mobility device. In most instances they will prescribe a powered wheelchair capable of being used in both environments.
