Mobility scooter punctures ?

Hi.....has anyone found themselves stranded by having a puncture when out and about on their scooter, and are these cans of inflatable stuff that seem to be replacing spare wheels in cars any good in these cases?

    I think that carrying a tyre sealant and inflator might be useful in some instances, such as if someone was part of a group engaging in an off-road trek, but for every day around town use it might be better to subscribe to a breakdown service as mentioned in the discussion that @PippaScope posted the link to above, as it would cover you for all types of breakdown.

     The disadvantages I can see for the tyre sealant/inflator kit is:

    • bulky to carry around,

    • needs someone willing/able to use it,

    • need to ensure the kit is compatible with the scooter tyre valve

    However, if I was using a scooter somewhere with a high risk of puncture, lots of broken glass on the footpath for example, I might be tempted to use a pre-puncture sealant to increase the likelihood of getting home safely and being able to sort things out from there.

    Obviously, it is aimed at cars rather than scooters but I think the advice still applies to scooter and inflatable wheelchair tyres.
