Mortgage interest payments

I am disabled and unable to work, I have been informed that from next month the DWP are going to stop paying my mortgage interest, they paid some of it, and they advised me to find another home or get a job. Now since I had a stroke my right hand side does not function so I can't really work. So I decided to get a lodger, who could stay in my spare room, but when I declared this they reduced my Income Based JSA so I'm back to square one. Now had I been working under the 16 hour rule I would not have any money deducted. Surely this is not fair.

Hi Yash and welcome
Unfortunately DWP will consider rent as income and therefore deduct it from IR benefits.
Have you informed your mortgage company and or insurance ?

Yes I have but I don’t see how they can help but I’ll ring them up and ask.
Thanks CR0 -
Do you claim PIP ?
