Advice on adult child with learning difficulties having hip surgery

Hi, I am looking for some advice and info from anyone whose son/daughter (age around 20) with severe learning difficulties has had to have a hip replacement or hip surgery, what kind of aftercare is there or just any info generally to help. Many thanks
