Hello my son is 16 & been diagnosed with scoliosis he is awaiting surgery in August, it doesn't stop him from doing things at present he is currently sitting his exams is there anything he or ourselves can claim for help my partner works part time because I myself am disabled. Thanks

ThanksIf his condition doesn't affect his daily life then he most likely wouldn't qualify for PIP unfortunately.You should already be receiving Child tax credit and child benefit for him. As for anything else for him then no, not unless his condition affects his daily life.Please do use the benefits calculator to know what else you could claim.0

Thank you his condition doesn't affect him until the operation the recovery will be 6_12 months was just wondering for help after0

Basing it on the lower recovery time then he wouldn't qualify for PIP because you have to expect the condition to last at least 9 months. If he does score points then they may not award him anything because of the lower times scale, unfortunately.
