After receiving high rate pip since it started and dla before that. I have today had a letter awarding me 0 points and the benefit stopped. I read the scores and it bares no comparison to what I said. I am besides myself with worry as to what my future holds for me.

Hi @davedig52
Welcome to our community.
I'm really sorry to read that you are going through such a worrying time. We are a friendly community with lots of shared experiences and knowledge.
Here is the link to the PIP and DLA discussion There may be information that will help.

you can call and ask for a Mandatorily Reconcideration, sorry about the spelling, don’t do it over the phone though, paper based always.
It will say on your award letter what to do if you don’t agree.
From what I get here though, very few MR are changed and then the next stage is appeal. Which this can take months to happen.
To be honest, you’v nothing to lose as they’ve taken it away anyway.
If you do go ahead with MR, try and send supporting evidence of how your disability affects you. Anything that will help

@davedig52
Disability Rights UK site has a good guide to PIP appeals. ****% of tribunal appeals succeed. Try to get some f2f help from CAB or similar, or Welfare Rights.
Many assessors are either totally incompetent or pathological liars or both.
PIP is awarded for how your conditions affect your daily living and mobility, not for the conditions themselves.
advicenow.org.uk/pip-tool will generate a mandatory reconsideration letter.

This happens to 1,000's of claimants who the DWP believe that they have had enough out of the system!! (tongue in cheek moment).
I've had it happen to me three times in the past 5 years. Every face to face assessment I have been to for PIP has resulted in 0 points despite the previous award of Enhanced Care & Mobility being awarded at MR stage.

Thanks, my anxiety levels are through the roof with it. Its like I wasn't even at the assessment with what they've written. I will contact citizens advice for some help0

Try not to worry too much. Many people have gone from 0 points to enhanced after appeal.2

I have had it stopped so it's a first for me. Thanks for your words.0

I find it shocking really that this happens to so many of us.
What do you live on!2 -
I'm left with esa, and grated the higher rate But this has literally halved the amount. I'm just worried I won't see win it back on appeal0
-
I didn't do the MR because I am one of those the system was designed to cut.
I didn't score myself standard and the assessor gave me what I did.
Hope you get in ok with MR, I do know some members here were successful.
You need to spell it out in simple English I think where you should have scored the points.

I sent a letter out recorded delivery yesterday giving my answers not the assessors answers So I'll have to wait and see what happens next0

I am sorry you are going through such a stressful time. As others have said it seems to be happening far too often. I am waiting for my appeal date . I did get awarded the care component, I don’t know how they expect you to live on just the esa . Good luck with your MR , I really hope that they reconsider your award.0

Thank you and good luck to you too1

Since this happened. Things have gone from bad to worse, and my esa has been cut by £65 a week. They have given me no reason apart from 'a change in money coming in', I'm at my wits end.0

@davedig52. I am so sorry that you are being treated this way . Have you been to the CAB? Maybe try ringing them again or trying to get some support from your Doctor to speed your claim along . Hope you get this matter resolved very soon xx0

They have given me no reason apart from 'a change in money coming in', I'm at my wits end. This will be because you had been claim Severe Disability Premium on top of your ESA because of your PIP daily living award and you live alone or are classed as living alone. As you no longer have a PIP award you're not entitled to the extra money in your ESA. If successful with either the MR or Tribunal and you have a daily living award you'll be able to re-claim this and it will be backdated to when it stopped.Which group are you in for ESA? If it's not the Support Group then you'll be affected by the benefit cap too. If you claim Housing benefit then you'll need to contact your local council as you're benefit could be affect by your PIP refusal. DWP do have contact with them but it's always better to ring them yourself to report these changes.Good luck with the MR and Tribunal, if you get that far.0
