I am asking on behalf of my son Chris who has a left sided hemiplegia and some learning difficulties. He is in reciept of DLA and earns £541 a month working part time. He has been told he is not entitled to housing benefit. He lives in Brighton - can this be right? He needs to find somewhere else to live by the end of August and I cant find anything that he could afford to rent on his income.

He will need to put all of his details into this benefits calculator and see what it comes up with.

Am I right in thinking DLA is not counted as income for housing benefit purposes so Becky 48 would have to apply using only the other income.
