I have received PIP for several years and was sent a letter recently to say my case was not going to be reviewed until 2026. I have now received a letter saying that I will get a home visit this Tuesday to review my case. Can they do this?? I have no problem with this but need to know why am I getting a home visit. Many thanks

Hi @Missmary5
Welcome to our community!
Forgive me as I'm still learning about issues that people face regarding benefits so I am unable to give you any advice however there are many members who have a lot more knowledge and will be able to give you the best advice soon.

Many thanksHi,It wouldn't have been possible to receive PIP for this amount of time because it didn't exist until 2013.Have you reported a change of circumstances recently? and have you recently filled out another form and returned it? If the answer is no to these then i'd advice you ring the assessment providers and ask exactly what this is all about. Good luck.0

Hi!!
Did you report any alterations in circumstances lately? Have you been asked to complete another form recently as well? If the answer is no then I suggest you contact the assessment provider and ask for them to explain everything to you clearly. Best of luck. It could be a administrative issue with the paperwork or company computer systems being used. Who knows? I don’t trust the DWP anymore. Hopefully they’ll respond to you quickly and this whole thing will be resolved soon in your favour.

If that is the case then yes they can review at any time even though it is probably only a few years in to the long award period.
The regulations do allow for checks to be made at any time.
If you have not submitted a new claim form they will probably want to do a face to face assessment in your home just to ensure that the award you were given is still the right award.
