Improving communication

hi
my 4 year old grandson has cerebral palsy and severe learning disabilities. I am just wondering how we can improve our communication skills with him. I am not sure what he understands he points to things but we never know if he is in pain or if he is disturbed by something

    I'm not sure if you are still looking at the online community, but  you may find the following site useful.  

    There are many different ways for people to communicate including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) which can be as basic as using photos.

    I hope this helps and you find a way for your grandson to communicate his needs to you.
