Hi, I'll be 63 in June and recently was made to wear a Foley until my urologist took it out due to the dangers of having it. Throughout much of my life I learned t hold my urine for extended periods of time. Has anyone had a similar situation?

            Hi @gelspr
 Good to meet you.
Are you concerned that without the Foley, you will have more difficulty urinating? I have trained myself to be able to hold my need to urinate but I have not needed a Foley.

Richard, sorry for not seeing your reply. I know I can go on my own if I'm not forced to urinate.I just wanted to know if anyone who has gone through holding urine for a lifetime has ended up retaining urine.
I rarely have this problem and wondered if anyone else with CP has encountered this.
Thank you for your time, Gary,0

I have a problem with urgency and cannot hold on. I have had a slight issue all my life with not being able to hold it in when laughing. The urgency is much worse and although I have meds for this, they don’t help0

Hi @annie29Good to meet you. I'm sorry to read that you are experincing difficulties with urgency an not being able to hold on. Have you heard of Bladder & Bowel UK? They have lots of free resources that may help.
