I'm sorry to hear this @danb, it sounds like things are really tough at the moment. I wonder if it's worth seeing a different GP for a second opinion about your pain management? Sometimes having somebody who can look at your situation with fresh eyes can be really beneficial.
I know it's by no means a solution, but you may be interested in this other money and help PIP entitles you to. @Sam_Scope also recently did a great post on social prescribing: might be something worth asking about too!0
