I have a 24 yr old daughter who has cerebral palsy she feels very alone as there are no clubs where she can meet others with the same condition. She is very bubbly and wants to meet young people but our local council have said they can put her in a day centre with people over 60 yrs. She wants to meet people in her age group

Hi @martins
Sorry to hear this I would recommend talking to a charity called Whizz-Kidz for people in wheelchairs and they go up to the age of 25 they run ambassador clubs a place for young disabled people to meet up, make friends and have fun normally on a Saturday or Sunday for most of the day and there is also opportunities including work experience and young leadership I will leave you a link so if there is anything in or near your area.

She wants to meet others with disabilities such as cp etc but the only clubs available in our area are for mentally disabled and she is unable to join as she has a physical disability not mental0

A club I went to for a while when I was younger is Phab.org.uk
Phab inspires and supports children, young people and adults with and without disabilities to make more of life together - breaking down community barriers, reducing social isolation, and creating opportunities for disabled people to enjoy the same activities and challenges as, and alongside, those without a disability.
