Hi I’m carer for my son. He’s 30 has Tourette syndrome with OCD, panic disorder, agoraphobia, sensory issues and hearing loss in one ear due to a tumour. So quite complex. We just a week ago moved him into his own apartment for the first time so huge step much to the surprise of his mental health team. It is a bit of a minefield though trying to do what’s needed to help him but not wanting to do anything that will take away the safety net of benefits I’ve fought to get him. He has a long way to go before he can be considered independent

Hi @debrand106 and welcome to the community
Its a big step you're son is taking and as you say it may be a long way to being independent but good luck to him for trying. I'm sure it must be difficult for you too, I'm sure he knows your still there for him, good luck.0 -
Thank you. He does. We’re all so proud of how far he has come but he knows he has the support of our whole family2

@debrand106 that's the main thing, that he knows you are all there.
