hi I am new here I have signed up today in hope that I can get some advice I have a daughter who is 4 she is severely disabled due to medical negligence as a baby she has cerebral palsy and epilepsy amongst other things she is like a newborn child.
She isn’t expected to live until adulthood we don’t know when her last day will be it can happen at any time so as you can imagine I am losing sleep I am extremely depressed I don’t look after myself I am so lonely and having financial difficulties which also keep me up all night I don’t know what else to do.
She gets everything she is entitled to like dla I get carers and the other benefits I have checked all of that but I am always in debt with bills I can’t even make a £5 repayment a month. I haven’t paid my electric bill because of finances and I am terrified about being cut off and her losing her oxygen she requires so much stuff like new clothes every month bedding, nappies that fit, (nhs won’t supply til 5) she needs dribble bibs , transport for hospital (don’t drive haven’t got the time to learn) which costs so much and I can’t get help with it, she has things like new sensory toys every month and it’s all getting a bit too much for me I don’t have any spare cash to get even me new clothes
I have been living in my pyjamas and keep a couple spare outfits for appointments etc really struggling right now can’t even afford new shoes sorry for the essay :-( just hoping someone can advise if there is anywhere to turn thank you

Laurap746, thanks for sharing your difficult conditions. First of all, your partner should help as well in your situation. Ask him he need to support some help for you. I wish your daughter will be better in coming days and you will sort out your problem very soon.0

Hi @laurap746
Firstly thank you so much for sharing with us and I hope we can find a way to help.
We have a lot of information that I could signpost you to but I don't want to overwhelm you with too much.
What I would say is that it may be really helpful for you to talk through all your issues with someone, and I would recommend the Scope helpline staff, they have such a wealth of information and knowledge and may be able to offer lots of support in different areas. You can speak to them on 0808 800 3333, they are open Monday - Friday 9-5
Scope does not give financial assistance or grants, but you may find it helpful to use this online grants search.
Please remember charities and grant-giving trusts rarely give money for things that you could get through, or could be funded by, statutory sources, such as benefits. Please use the online benefits calculator first.
I am sorry to hear you are struggling, are there any local groups near you who could offer a bit of support and a shoulder to lean on?0 -
