Hi @Petrina, thanks for sharing this with us.
As far as I know there's no 'official' disability card or register, but there are schemes you can join which provide a card which can be used as ID. You may be interested in this past discussion here, and hopefully our members can share some thoughts too!0 -
I applied for my yellow disabled card on line from the local council.
You don't need a photo, mine just has a number and my name on.
It's free as well.
I use it as ID for cheaper tickets at museums and things.0 -
If you tap in yellow disabled card on your local council website it should come up, if not then ask at the local library.0

What is the name of the yellow badge that you got from your council.0

They just called it, "yellow disabled card"0

I got mine about 5 years a go, even changed it when I moved counties.

This yellow card only seems to be available with Hampshire local council, as i did a google search. 5 years was a long time ago and a lot can change in this time. This is what i found. https://fish.hants.gov.uk/kb5/hampshire/directory/advice.page?id=GFX9tzBx3wEAs Pippa has advised, you can no longer register as disabled and this applies to almost all local council.

Yes, Hampshire council and also Surrey.
I was told it's a voluntary disabled register, in that you have to ask for it rather then just be given it.0 -
I think it's run on a county basis rather then a national thing.
Changed mine for a Surrey one last year, same sort of card and colour but a slightly different design.0
