Do i cancel esa and apply for universal credit at the same time?

I am moving home to a different area. Currently on esa support group but will have to apply for UC when i move. I read that i will have two weeks housing benefit as esa is paid in arrears but how does that work with new area and new landlord. Do i cancel esa and apply for uc at same time. Any info please.
