Hi I claim esa with severe disability premium so apparently I won't be switching over unless there is a change in my circumstances and if there is I won't be covered by transitional protect. What sort of change in circumstances would put a stop to my esa

Hi,Your thoughts are slightly incorrect. Claiming SDP means a change of circumstances won't prompt a move to UC yet. So, if you move house for example then you won't be able to claim UC.This rule is only in place until transitional support protection starts sometime this year. Once this starts and you have a change of circumstances then you will need to claim UC.See the legislation to this here. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2019/10/made

Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to get In touch. See the thing is I've got to have arm amputated and I'm bit worried that they will stop my esa n start me on uc which means I'll be losing money cause there no severe disability premium on uc0 -
I'm so sorry to hear that!As you're claiming the SDP then you won't be able to claim UC, even if you're found fit for work. That's because those that have been entitled to SDP within the last month will also not be able to claim UC. When the transitional support protection starts then the rules for those claiming SDP will change and then a change of circumstances will mean you'll have to move across.0
