Do IVB/ESA claimants receive full State pension?

I lost my job due to serious ill health in 1983 whereupon I was awarded Invalidity benefit which then became incapacity benefit. This was then converted to contrib-based ESA. I therefore worked for 12 years and will have been on continuous benefit for 37 years when I am 66 next year.
Some time ago i read that claimants receive the full State pension (I am single) when they are 66
as the required contribution will have been paid by the DHSS/DWP when paying the benefit. Is this still so?
Thanks
