Hi cando,
Dividends (ie payments from stocks and shares) are ignored as both income and capital for contribution based employment and support allowance.
If you are receiving any top up of income related employment and support allowance, or are receiving any other means-tested benefit such as housing benefit, then this income will need to be declared and will affect the amount of benefit you receive.
regards,
Michael

Hello
I get ESA contributions based and I'm in the support group. ESA told me there is a weekly earnings limit. Does that include shareholder dividends?
Would a tax refund affect the ESA claim?
