hello does anyone know the maximum oramorph a GP can prescribe in 1 go? After being admitted to hospital I’m on 20ml every 2 hours (sometimes make it to 3 hours) my GP is only given me 500ml which is lasting me just over 5 days. So I’m constantly having to request more online. Thanks

All I can tell you is I'm on this stuff? I doubt many will be able to tell you only your GP
I get 2 big bottles a month. And my Recommended daily dose 10-20 mg (10-40 ml) every 4 hours.
At Maximum daily dose: 120 mg per day and I think you'll find that's the limit.

Dear @Colu15
You don't say why you are being prescribed Oramorph but please be aware that it is a very powerful [addictive] drug that should only be used to treat acute pain, it was never meant to be used to treat chronic pain, which is why people find they need increasing doses of it for it to have any impact [and eventually it doesn't seem to help even at high doses...].
In fact there is a growing concern about the overprescribing of painkillers, so much so that the government has set up a group to investigate the over prescribing of such painkillers, as well as various psychiatric medicine which doctors seem to be dishing out like Smarties nowadays...
Can your doctor suggest any alternatives eg pain management, physiotherapy, mindfulness etc?
This is a great book about how pain works and how mindfulness can help:

Best wishes.
