Hi so I get pip high rate I also work part time my partner is going to try get care elment will this be ok if I work also at moment he doesnt work but he is looking for work so if we did claim care elment if he went back to work would he not be able claim care elment for me we need know as dont see point if he wont get nothing when he go back to.work

    HI,

    Your husband can claim the carers element of UC and there's no earning limited to this, all he needs to do is care for you for at least 35 hours per week.

    He doesn't need to claim carers allowance to be eligible for this but if he did claim carers allowance then of course there's an earning limited to this.

    Does he have to go.down to.jobcentre once he put on journal or does it go straight on

    No, he won't need to attend any appointments. He will also be moved to the no work requirements group and won't have to attend any further appointments or be made to look for work.

    What do he have put on journal as never usee it before so not sure do he need tell them.im getting pip

    Your partner needs to tell them that he's caring for you for at least 35 hours per week and ask for the carers element to be added. It can be backdated yes but it depends on circumstances.
