Not knowing what's going on can be very stressful, I'm sorry you're so worried @Deejustneeds1. If you can answer @chiarieds's questions about your child's benefits we might be able to help a little more with what might happen with them.

    HI and welcome,

I'm one of the community champions here on scope

May i ask how long your son has been in hospital for? If it's longer than 28 days then you will need to contact PIP because this will stop. The day he goes in and the day he comes out doesn't count. Once he's out of hospital he can then contact PIP and his payments will restart.

His ESA can continue while he's in hospital but if he's there for more than 52 weeks then it will be reduced.

Once the PIP stops then you'll need to contact Carers allowance regarding your claim because this will also stop. If that stops then you will no longer be entitled to claim Income Support.

Do he claim housing benefit for help with any rent?

If you have any further questions then please do ask.

Hi @Deejustneeds1 - I hope Poppy has answered your benefits query, as she has a great understanding of these; another friend, thespiceman, has already provided links, particularly in the first 3, that may also help you both.
As far as help with housing, possibly the following links may help if you're hoping for your son to live independently, but with support.
Then more specifically related to your area:
Please let us know how you get on next week.
