survey about a new automatic door opener

Hi, I am a 4th year mechanical engineering student looking to design and fabricate a new automatic door opener for interior doors. The device will include two parts: a mechanism to open and close the door, and a mechanism to unlatch the door (effectively, to turn the door handle). I would like to build a device that does not require any manipulation of the door or the home (such as changing the handle or screwing something to the wall.

I was hoping for some insight through this quick survey- all data is completely anonymous unless you choose to provide your email and will not be used for anything but my project!

    Are you actually in the UK? as your survey makes more than one reference to ADA compliance, which is actually "American's with Disabilities Act" and so not the governing guidance here!

    hi @forgoodnesssake ! I go to an american university, so I had included ADA on the form, but I forgot to add a note for other countries! I'll change the form to reflect this. thank you!
