@stejon - I acknowledge that if medically trained people wish to work for Capita et al then they can do so but, personally, I want NHS staff providing healthcare not doing paperwork for the DWP.
You may be lucky where you live but NHS care where I live has gone through the floor.
The neurologist I see now has no support where he used to have 1/2 specialist nurses - I should go every 6 months but it has been over a year since my last appointment. It's the same with another specialist.
I can't make an appointment to see a GP without the ringing me first to assess me...
The NHS is creaking under the strain without asking them to deal with benefit applications as well...
