    HI and welcome,

    I'm one of the community champions here on scope. I'm afraid not, children under the age of 16 are unable to claim carers allowance.

    Does your son claim DLA mid/high rate care? If he does then someone else maybe able to claim carers allowance for looking after him but it will depend on their circumstances.
