Reduced rate

in Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
Hi. I'm in receipt of ESA and have had a letter from the DWP saying that my rate is going up by a few pounds a week from April 2020 then going down by £70 a week from July 2020. I can't understand why this is??

    @Graham0409, Hello and welcome, your ESA payment may be reduced if you are receiving carers allowance or your partner is caring for you. Ring DWP and ask why the reduction I did and found them most helpful.

    Hi,

    Do you claim either PIP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care? If so then you maybe claiming the severe disability premium in with your ESA? If you do and you have dependent children living with you and they are ending full time education or your PIP award is due to end in July, then this could be the reason why your ESA is reducing in July.

    Thank you to Wilko & poppy123456 I have just spoken to a man at the DWP who assured me that the letter sent to me is a mistake and that my ESA will remain the same after July. So I was worrying for nothing.

    Alot of the time letters from DWP make no sense at all. Glad it's sorted.
