Why is CP in the list of higher vulnerability for Covid-19?

Hi, dad of girl with wobbly legs. Otherwise healthy. I'm trying to figure out why CP is in the high risk list from HMGov yesterday. Some people have suggested something to do with neuro damage or something. It doesn't immediately make sense to me. My understanding of CP is permanent brain damage from birth, a static anatomical cause unrelated directly to breathing issues. Anyone got any ideas? The very obvious dilemma of do we shut her in now for months, or carry on as she has no breathing problems normally other than occasional croup.

Hi @Ezergood, welcome to the community.
CP as you probably know affects everybody differently. Some are affected very mildly and others with have more serious problems related to the impairment. It is those people that have issues with their breathing, reoccurring chest infections or swallowing issues.
For more medical clarification especially around the occasional croup, I would speak to your daughter's G.P. or call 111.
