I want to get my sister a tablet

My sister is 72 with cerebral Palsy. Her hands are badly clawed but she can use one finger to select items on a keyboard. Cannot manipulate  a mouse. I want to get her a tablet with a large letter keyboard and another kind of mouse. She just likes to use for games, quizes, reading a book. Any ideas would be most welcome. She is depressed and missing visitors.

    I would think a tablet would suit her better but the keyboards are not always that big 

    With some you can buy a seperate keyboard to attach 

    Another workaround could be downloading a voice assisted app but I'm not sure how these work 

    May be worth you doing some research into different devices

    We also have a CP meeting on mondays which is virtual cafe meeting which she may enjoy to chat and meet others

    Hi @Isla30 and welcome to the community, I hope you're well.

    It's lovely to hear that you are so willing to help your sister out, hopefully we can recommend something good for you. 

    When you say you are after a tablet, do you mean like an Android or iPad tablet, or a laptop that can be folded into a tablet? 

    Out of the three options above, Android tablets are always a good option because the on-screen keyboards are fairly customisable in terms of size and colour, and you can always buy a physical one to plug into it. You can also get mice for these too, though I'm not sure what kind of mouse you are after?

    Thanks so much for your reoly. I would like to get an Android and buy a separate large key keyboard not sure how it would connect to tablet probably bluetooth as no usb port on my Samsung tablet.
    My sister has used a laptop but her hands are too bad to manipulate a mouse and too shaky for the mousepad.
    I can set it up for her but just need to get Pauline access.I am sure there is an answer.

    You can get keyboard to fit ipad 

    I found some others when I looked cant remember which di a search online tablets with keyboard

    I use an iPad and I find the screen keyboard is plenty large enough.
    you can also use a separate keyboard but I find the screen one most useful. ?

    Keyboard do use wireless Bluetooth connection.

    As @leeCal has said most keyboards use wireless or Bluetooth connection. Here is an interesting comparison page between Android and Apple. It also includes information about specialised keyboards.
