Hi @Ibelive2020.
This must be worrying for you.
Is your son poorly at the moment? I hope not.
It's a good idea for your son and his Dad to have the Covid test before he's due to have his sleep study at the hospital.
I know it must be so difficult for you but at least the doctors aren't just ignoring your son's problems.
His photo is lovely, what a fine looking boy!
Thinking of you, keep us updated if you can. Love and best wishes.1 -
Hi
I understand your concerns but at least in intensive care he will be in the best place for one on one care0 -
@Ibelive2020 I know it sounds scary your son bring on intensive care to do the sleep study but it is just for them to do the sleep study and has to be on machines to monitor him which is easier than being in a ward
Where we are we have to have covid 19 test before we go into hospital I had to self isolate fo r ten days after my eye operation as well
His dad will be with him he will be ok and at least after the study you will know ?0 -
@lisathomas50 my son had a sleep study at home years ágó they brought me a lil machine etc i done it myself bút obvs hís health has got worse since then @Oxonlady no my son is not poorly at the moment @janer1967 thanks1

Hi @Ibelive2020, it's good to hear that your son is not poorly at the moment but I'm glad that the hospital is taking his sleep apnoea seriously and going ahead with the sleep study in the safest way possible. It sounds as though he'll be in good hands.
Wishing your little boy all the best.
Also sending you a big hug, I'm wondering whether you are getting enough support from anywhere under the circumstances? Take care.1 -
@oxonlady thank you for your kind words my son has downs syndrome suspected autism hé alsó has learning difficulties im nőt getting no support from anywhere sending you big húgs back Takecare0

Hi @Ibelive2020, when you've got time you might like to ring the Mencap Helpline, they could advise you on what support could be available.
Unfortunately, this Helpline is unavailable until Thursday of this week, for maintaince work. Please let me know if you'd like their number and email address.
You should be able to get some support and assistance from somewhere. Meanwhile, another hug will have to do!1 -
@oxonlady thank you éver so much for your kind words help advice and support means alot i shall ring them on thursday (((HUG))) back xx0
-
Best wishes to you and the family @Ibelive2020, especially your son
As the others have said, it's good that the doctors are taking it so seriously too.
Mencap are a great organisation, so it could be a good idea to get in touch with them. The National Autistic Society also run a number of services that could be helpful to you, including a parent-to-parent emotional support helpline.
Let us know how he gets on
