Good Morning everyone,
I have a quick question I care for my mum now and receive the UC career element of £162 a month however there is also a Career Allowance of £270 a month. My question is can i claim both at the same time or just one? Also are there any reduction as j heard multiple views or if anyone is claiming both could advise me?
Many thanks in advance

Hello @james19o6.
Carer's Allowance is deducted from Universal Credit so claiming both won't increase your overall income (unless you're in Scotland). It does have some benefits such as the fact it can be paid weekly which some people prefer and gives a higher class of NI contributions compared to UC.

Okay so its actually pointless to have the hassle the only pros are weekly payment and ni constribution etc.
Many thanks Adrian0
