Is my LCWRA likely to be backdated?

Hi can anyone tell me if I’m likely to get LCWRA backdated? I became ill September 2019 I was working part time and also receiving a UC top up as single with dependant. I eventually had to resign my job and go full UC on 28th January, I have been continuously signed off by my GP and sent every fit note in to UC. I have had no help and was just kept on basic UC, during all of this Covid then hit so I’ve been sending fit note details via journal and asking for help and no one forwarded me for a fit for work assessment until 3weeks ago! I was awarded LCWRA finally and told no need for further fit notes and to wait for the award letter. Will I get backdated?? Considering this has been going on for so long now? Many thanks

    Hi there 

    In normal cases lcwra is backdated to 3 months after you report a condition  supported by a fit note 

    Its not clear from your post when your first fit note was dated , but it should be paid the 4th month after 

    If you reported it while you were still working I'm not sure of the answer

    I missed the bit about still working. How much were you earning? If you were earning more than 16 x minimum wage you could not be referred for a WCA at that time unless you get DLA or PIP.

    You say you stopped work on 28th January - I assumed this meant 2021 but you say ‘then Covid hit’, so perhaps you mean 2020.

    What date have they said they are treating you as having LCWRA from?
