Trainers

Hi. This isn’t exactly an aid, but I’m trying to find extra wide trainers to go over my son’s splints. I’ve had 3H fitting shoes from Cosyfeet but they don’t do just regular trainers as far as I can see. Some regular brands like New Balance do things like 6E or 8E fittings but I don’t imagine they will be wide enough. I want to be able to get him trainers that look like they’re meant for teenagers rather than older people. Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Hi there 

    I have just got some wide fitting trainers for my teenage son from scethers 

    He doesn't wear splints but they are wide as usually wide fit don't fit either 

    Just a thought

    Wearing orthotics myself I’d recommend trying Nike trainer boots - these tend to be deep and wide for orthotics or AFOs. Nike do offer wide and extra wide in their trainers and I have always found them to be helpful. See link below

    The other brand that I know a friend buys wide fitting trainers is Sketchers (advertised by Jaime Redknapp on TV)

    @Stayce is right. I would also suggest Nike, they have a range designed by somebody living with CP.
