pip paid in arrears if sent to prison on remand?

my girl friend unfortunately has been recently sent to prison on remand (17th April 2021)which the dwp has now been informed of her incarceration she is due a pip payment this Monday (10th may 2021) will she still receive a payment as it is paid in arrears???

PIP can continue for the first 28 days in prison but will then stop. That means her entitlement will end on 15th May.
If she is released without a custodial sentence I think she can be paid any weeks she misses out on while remanded.1 -

i now think my earlier suggestion that any payments missed out on could later be paid if not given a custodial sentence was incorrect. (Unfortunately I can’t correct the earlier post.)
Note that although PIP payments end after 28 days there remains entitlement to PIP so when discharged PIP simple need to be informed and payments will resume.0
