My award rate was reduced when I was forced to move to PIP. The assessor lied. How do I appeal?

I have always had the higher rates but when I was forced to move over to pip it changed
I want to appeal against the decision from middle rate to higher rate  daily allowance
But I don't know how to do this

Do you mean your on PIP now?

There are no middle rates for PIP. It’s standard or enhanced.

If you've done an MT the response should be headed Mandatory Reconsideration Notice. If you have that the next stage is to appeal to the tribunal service. See if you can get support from an advice agency https://advicelocal.uk

Hello @carolyea how are you doing today?

Scope's 'Challenging a DWP decision' webpage advises to request a mandatory reconsideration (MR) you can:
    • or write a letter telling them why you disagree with their decision
If you choose to write a letter, include all the information required by the online form.
Challenging a PIP decision (Citizens Advice)
Also, when completing your MR it's best to focus on evidencing why you believe you should have scored points for particular activities- see this table of PIP activities, descriptors and points.  Although it's understandable to be frustrated the initial decision didn't go your way, by providing 2 or 3 detailed examples of what happened the last time you tried that activity - including who was there, when, where and what happened - you can better illustrate how your impairment impacts you.  Remember, to do this for any activity which you can't complete reliably.  That is safely, to an acceptable standard, repeatedly and in reasonable time.

If you have any further questions please let us know.  Also, I've edited the title of your thread as I believe you meant to say 'assessor' rather than 'assorted'.  It's easily done so no problem.

Best wishes and have a great Saturday,

Hi, unfortunately I have heard  this so often that the assessor lied. The worst thing is, is that we can nothing about them lying and if you challenge them using that, you wont get anywhere..it's been tried many times. All it does is get their backs up.

So the right way to go about it is to fill in the forms with as much detail as possible. Tell them how long and how much help you need to complete a task. If you use equipment, mention it and say how much you rely on this.

I am a full time wheelchair user. An assessor came to my house (before covid) to do the report.

I did get full PIP (I was transferring from DLA to PIP), but the assessor said I could go into town alone and cook a meal. Both were so wrong. I cant access the kitchen units etc and am too weak to carry pans etc.

You must fight this. I wish you well.
