Lcwra payment and entitlement.

I was put in the lcwra group through a tribunal. I know payment is a 3 month wait after first med certificate but what I wanted to know is the following. My UC work coach at my local benefits office changed my commitments in January(month of first certificate) 2020 to 10 hours prepare for work and keep appointments with medical professionals etc. I was told that you can be put in the lcw group automatically. Is this the case without having an assessment and does it mean the 3 months waiting time does not apply to me and LCWRA will be backdated to January rather than starting in may. Thanks

Hi there

Lcw does not automatically apply to anyone but work coach has the ability to turn off or reduce work commitments once you have reported a medical condition which is what has happened in your case

You will still have the 3 month waiting period like anyone else so you won't be backdated to Jan

The only exception for not having the 3 month waiting is for terminal illness with life expectancy if 6 months or less
