Would asking for a house exchange prompt a move onto UC?

Hi I, m after some advice... me and my partner want to move a house exchange.. I, m in the support group of esa and get both enhanced rates of pip would I be asked to go on universal credit

    hi,when i moved properties 2 years ago, i was transfered over to universal credit

    it can take up to six weeks to tranfer it,but they would give you an advanced payment,if you would need it

    Yeah I car, nt understand that if they can give you an advanced payment why car, nt they give you what your entitled two straight away

    As Mike says, it depends whether or not you are changing local authority. If you stay within the same local authority you can keep your existing Housing Benefit claim, assuming you have one, and simply provide details of the new tenancy. If you move to a different local authority your existing HB claim will end and you will not be able to make a new claim. If you then want help with your new rent you will have to claim UC which would end any income based ESA.
