I started my claim 3 April, they sent me a message 17th April as they had received it it then was sent to the assessment people on 13th May and not heard anything 10 weeks, on the phone for 1 1/2 hours in the cue to speak to PIP to be told they cannot contact them.to chase claim I have to contact them. So the time scale guide of 12 weeks from start to finish is way off.

Hi Welcome to the community,There is a long wait for assessments due to the pandemic and people who applied last year are only just being given assessment appointments at the moment. DWP are estimating it takes 10 months to complete claims at the moment. To give you some timescales I applied in November 2020 and heard nothing at all till June 2021 about my appointment time on the 29th June. it then takes 6-8 weeks from assessment to get a decision but this varies depending where you live.Unfortunatley theres nothing you can do but wait, you can call the assessors but won't be told anything other than they have your claim and they will get to you when they get to you.I hope you hear back soon and your claim is successful, keep us posted.0

Hi and welcome to the community
There are huge backlogs for assessments and pip claims
People have been advised that the process can take around 10 months to complete
Some are quicker but there are no fixed timescales0
