in Start here and say hello!
Hello everyone I’m new here I’ve had the same thing said to me today I was awarded daily living of pip in April I got the back payment no problem nothing about debt management I appealed there decision and am now on enhanced for both but the lady said it has to be sent to debt management to see if I owe anything surely if I did they would have taken the first back payment

    Hello Thankyou for replying I did but that’s being repaid out of my UC

    Hi and welcome to the community 

    Even if your debt is being paid off through uc they will try and take the remaining balance from your arrears payment 

    If you owe them money then they don't owe you the full amount of backpay 

    You can try and challenge this buf you may not get very far
