Applied in October and hadn't heard anything. Got told last week they'd had paperwork from assessor?

Hi, I was hoping for some advice. I applied for PIP last October and heard nothing for months! Got a txt two weeks ago to say they had received my paperwork from the assessor although I haven’t had an assessment! Very confused.
I have COPD , DDD, and quite bad osteoarthritis.
Can anyone explain why no assessment done?

    Hi @Helsbells65 - welcome to the community, & thank you for joining. Sometimes the Health Care Professionals, who normally do an assessment, feel that they have sufficient information from the paperwork you've sent in to do what they call a paper-based assessment (so no assessment needed). So, the DWP have received this 'paper-based' assessment, & will make a decision based upon that. We have had some members receive a call from the DWP asking some questions for further clarification, so this may happen, but not in all cases. Hope this helps.

    in in my opinion they have enough information to make a report on the paper medical information that you have sent. Try not to worry.
