Does anyone know if it's law that a disabled toilet should be on the ground floor?

Just wondering if it is law to have the disabled toilet on the ground floor 

cant find anything on disabled toilet on gov.uk

    I would think it’s a given but I actually have no idea, sorry.
    hopefully some will come along who can help.

    I don’t know if stair lifts make any difference…mm

    Been to work and restaurants where they have been below as well as above ground floor - lift access on each.  Not sure - contact your Council Planners’ for a clear opinion

    from my understanding a disabled toilet doesn't have to be on the ground floor, it just has to be assessable. So if its not on the ground floor there needs to be a lift or some way a wheel chair user can use the toilet. I've used plenty of disabled toilets and some are on the ground floor and some are on the 1st floor but had a lift.
