Pip confusion

Hi all. I'm new, I have mental health issues and find things overwhelming at the moment. My question is about pip.
I will condense if I can...I applied in January, had assessment in July. Yesterday (Tuesday 17th ) had a text off dwp to ring them. I did, they said it was about a change in circumstances. I said I haven't had a change and was this anything to do with my pip claim? .she said I'm intitled to an increase in my esa but pip was separate. This morning I got a letter off pip saying "we have all your information now so will write to you with our decision when we've made it ( letter was dated 6 days ago). Can anyone help me to understand what is happening or anyone had the same?. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the community
From what you have said I am presuming the call was about your esa and not pip
As far as pip goes since the letter was dated 6 days ago the decision could have been made now and you are waiting for the letter if so then maybe esa have been updated
Have you had any money into your bank from pip as you often get payment before the decision letter
This is only me thinking what it could be and is pure guess only dwp have the answer0 -
This is only a guess but possibly the extra ESA payment might be a disability premium. But that would indicate you have been awarded PIP.The letter could be delayed due to RM and short staffing. You could ring PIP and ask if a decision has been made.Check your account as any back pay would more than likely go in before a decision letter arrives.Again I’m only speculating here.0

No I haven't received any money but it was strange dwp asking me to ring because of change of circumstances that I had no idea about. Thanks so much for your reply.0

I didn't think you were allowed to ring and ask as in their letters is says no need to contact us as well let you know when decision is made.thanks for replying everyone, feel better just knowing other people are out there.0

The payment will take 3 to 5 working days to clear so maybe pending0

Same thing happened to me it was on a Wednesday ESA rang to ask a few questions and confirmed that i had been awarded PIP and was entitled to extra ESA money as i live alone.
On the Friday backdated ESA money went in and on the Monday backdated PIP went in the letters of entitlement arrived later that week.

Thanks for reply joshua, that does sound similar to my call except the lady on phone didn't confirm pip had been awarded. .just said a change in circumstances and that she was passing details on to processing department.0
