Hi and welcome to the community
I'm sorry to hear about your situation I had exactly the same when I became disabled I wanted to move back to my home town so I was near family
Despite involving local mp the ot and housing officer I got nowhere
I ended up in same location but in a bungalow which suited my disability bur was about to be homeless so had to take it
Unfortunately there is a massive shortage of suitable housing and unless you are about to become homeless and have children there will be a massive wait
Also being under 55 often discounts your eligibility for a bungalow without a housing needs assessment report from ot recommend this
Sorry it isn't better news
Have you considered private rent but again this has its problems finding landlords that will accept benefit claimant as tenants
Hope you find a solution1 -
Plus it depends if you have direct blood line in Manchester. One of the comments on the application is 'please give a reason why you picked this area' you must have a direct relative that lives there or a very good reason for this, which you have to explain.
And you have to supply their names, address, tel number and how they are related to you. If done through Gateway.0
