What happens if I move to Scotland from UK

hi,
hubby and I are looking to love to Scotland from the UK. How does PIP and ESA work? I get full pip and ESA and wondered if it’s still UK paying it or do I have to apply for it with the Scottish government? And would I still be able to get it etc! I have no idea

    Hi there 

    It won't affect pip you will just need to infirm them of change of address 

    I'm not sure about esa but don't think you would have to apply again would think it will just be a change of circumstances but I'm not certain

    Have I missed something,  benefits up here may be changing in the future but we're still in the UK and hopefully always will be.

    I think the OP was just curious to know whether moving to Scotland would have an impact.

    hi we’re looking at possibly moving to Scotland so was just asking if my payments would change. Eg do I just inform the uk government of change of address and everything still be the same.

    @Pandapaws Yes, everything will remain the same at the moment.  Once you are a citizen of Scotland, you will become subject to Scottish legislation.  Legislation in relation to Adult disability benefits is expected to change next year in Scotland.  The process for Adult Disability Payments is expected to be much more humane and person-centred than the current/ongoing UK process.

    You can either tick the form and say nothing has changed and sign the declaration and don’t fill in the form or you do the declaration and fill in the charges since you last qualified hope that helps Girl_No1 said:
