Hello all
I need you help Yesterday (21/08.2021) I had got my letter from my appeal for pip .
I have been turn down  for my pip appeal. They still think that I don;t have mental illness when that is not true the last past 3 weeks I have been going though a mental health crisis and  it taken all this time for me to recover , ever though I'm still recovering my mental health crisis there is not guarantee I will stay  mentally stable . aside from this the letter I have received about my  apple being  turn down as really added to my mental health crisis recover . I find it very hard to write out letter and the though of going to a  tribunal make me so scared not only the tribunal it self but also find all the paper work to prove my mental illness . Does any one know who can help me out with going to a  tribunal and also typing letter out for the  tribunal as I find it very hard to write out letter and also it very mentally draining. I would love your advice on this cos I have never gone to a  tribunal  before. Can anyone help me what I need to do for the  tribunal. ???

    Hi @Ali_lovesTheUK

Welcome back to the community, I'm sorry to hear that your MR was not successful, you can find information here about the tribunal stage and what to expect. If you want some support with carrying out the appeal, you could go through Advice Local, Citizens Advice or your local Welfare Rights, if you have concerns about completing the process and writing out letters on your own then finding professional help might be a good idea for you.

Regarding your mental health, it's a shame to hear that you have been going through a crisis but I'm glad to hear that you are recovering. Do you have support in place to help you through this time? Remember you can contact your GP or the crisis team if you ever need to get further support, and places like Samaritans and Shout are always there to speak with too.

Also, do you have any friends or family members who can provide support as well?

    HI,

As you're asking about Tribunal, then when you say "appeal" i'm assuming this means your MR decision stayed the same.

Please see the above link for advice local to see what's available local to you for help and support with the next stage. If you can get representation then even better.

A lot of people assume that Tribunal stage is scary but it's far from it. They are very understanding and totally different to DWP and the HCP that did your assessment.

You can request the Tribunal either through paper request or online. All you need to do at the moment when requesting the Tribunal is to give a brief description of your reasons for appealing.

Once this is done if you haven't already stated where and why you think you  should have scored those points and given a couple of real world examples of what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies to you then you should also do that.

Forget the assessment because that's gone and in the past. Hope this helps. Good luck.
