HI and welcome,Claiming PIP doesn't automatically entitle you to full council tax reduction. Council tax is one of those bills that has to be paid and should never be missed. Whether you're entitled to council tax reduction will totally depend on your circumstances. With regards to the money you owe then you should speak to your local council as only they can answer your questions,0

Hello @spanish and welcome to the community, hope you're getting on okay.
I hope the above comment has been helpful, will you be speaking with your council about it?0 -
You need to ask for a copy of your latest council tax bill and a breakdown of what is owed, then hopefully speak with the council to arrange paying it back. Also a side note if you need to try and get some specialist debt advice if you think it will help?0

Good morning, I myself am claiming a few benefits, and I have had my council tax reduced, but I owed them money from last year, the best thing to do is ring your local council tax office and set up a payment plan which I have done, believe me it will be a weight has been lifted of your shoulders, don't ignore it, get it sorted.1

Have you not had any previous letter about your arrears before the baliffs called?0

I've never known it be paid this way before. Is it deducted from your ESA because you were previously in arrears with the council tax?
