How long does it take to hear about assessment date? Can they decide you don't need one?

Dose anyone no how long it takes from the time u get the text saying we have ur pip forms till u get contacted with a date for the consultation with medical professional and can thy deside that u don’t need to attend one

    Hi,

    There are no timescales. Although there's huge backlogs at the moment and they're saying about 10 months, although some are reporting less waiting time. Yes, you can have a paper based assessment, if there's enough evidence to write the report, although it's rare for this to happen. I'd advise you to expect to have the assessment and if one's not needed then it's a bonus.

    They are still doing telephone assessment but face to face assessments have also started back again.

    I have appointment in the morning today
    I have applied in april but I think its really good if you call them every 2 weeks they will give u all the updates regarding your claim
    I call them on monday to ask when I'm getting appointment for assessment they said u have to wait 6 8 weeks more and I call them today and they said we have appointment for tomorrow morning I said yes I'm ok with that
    So yes u contact them every 2 weeks I did and it was helpful
