How Do You React To Insults?

Well reply to insults...

I was watching YouTube shorts this morning. And this one short video was advising on how to reply/react to insults.

Now I have *memory problems*. I think it was quoted as below.

This one chap said to stop them in their tracks, reply to an insults with *"Well"

I could see this may work, sending their mind into thinking (Removed by moderator, profanity).

I don't know if it would work.
But how do you or how have you replied to insults? Thanking you ?

    I ignore them...but then kick myself later after thinking of a witty/sarky retort...

    Not sure what the thinking behind 'well' is...

    Depends on how I’m feeling really. Sometimes ignore as I know they aren’t worth the stress whilst another time I’d probably give a sarcastic laugh. 

    I don’t understand the ‘well’ response though?

    On here you just have to ignore them I don't get insulted in outside life lol ?

    I don't like insults. But I need to learn how to just ignore them.

    A lot of people seem to be looking for someone to take it out on. But still appear to have the higher ground.
    They can't say stuff about gender, sexuality, race etc.
    Do they see themselves as stars of their own sitcom nobody will watch?
    I just ignore them and carry on. If only you could charge rent for all the space you occupy in their heads.
    I can always tell when I'm dreaming as people I meet are nicer and better natured. Trouble with comebacks is you eventually get it escalating when best thing you can do is leave them to their lowly vibrational mess. And swagger! Oh you have a problem? Well I haven't even started. Nobody can make you do anything you don't want to do. I'm happy to cut myself off from "friends".
    Just be kinder to yourself and don't spread the infection on to someone you think deserves insulting.
    We've all got our troubles and battles nobody else knows about.
