I applied for PIP in May, and haven't heard anything about an assessment. My condition is worsening

Hi everyone. I made an initial call for PIP back on May. I sent my forms back with all my evidence promptly which was acknowledged by text. I haven’t heard anything 14 weeks on. I have contacted them to say my condition is getting worse. I know my GP & two consultants have been approached & sent back reports, paperwork etc. I phoned to see what was happening & I was told they didn’t know how long it would take, nor could they tell me how my assessment would be conducted. Can anyone advise what I should do next ?

Hi @becsmusic44 - & welcome to the community. I'm sorry to say PIP claims are taking longer than usual, so your wait isn't exceptional. It seems PIP claims are taking in total about 10 months from your initial claim to getting your decision letter after the assessment. So, I'm sorry, all you can do is wait, sadly.

Hi @becsmusic44 :) Welcome to the community! As the above comments have outlined, waiting times for PIP can unfortunately be quite long at the moment.

I'm sorry to hear that your condition has been worsening. Are you receiving enough support from your medical team to help you to manage your condition?

Just to let you know, I've moved your post into our PIP category and tweaked the title.

I'm glad to hear that @becsmusic44 :) Are you able to cope financially while you wait for your PIP claim to move through the system?
